peroneus longus
The Peroneus Longus is a long, slender muscle located on the lateral side of the leg.
Origin:
Arises from the head and upper two-thirds of the lateral fibula.
Insertion:
Inserts into the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform.
Function:
Contributes to eversion of the foot and plays a role in plantar flexion, aiding in pointing the toes downward.
